On Thursday, May 27, 2021 (June 6, 1400), after offering several phones in the Reno5 series, Oppo has finally left the family and introduced the first members of the Reno6 series (who will certainly not be the last members of this series). The first three members of the series include the Reno6 Pro, Reno6 and Reno6 Pro +, the first of which is a 6.43-inch midrange with the newly introduced Dimensity 900 processor, and the two Pro and Pro Plus models only in the processor (Dimensity 1200 in the original and Snapdragon 870 in the latter ) And the camera are different. 90Hz displays and 65-watt SuperVOOV 2.0 fast chargers are other commonalities between the three models, and of course all three have 5G connectivity.
It's better to start talking about this new family with the smallest and simplest member; Whereas the Reno6 is quite similar to the Reno5 5G in one or two respects; Available in blue, green, and black with star-like pigments, the phone has a different design, while the Reno5 uses the curved edges of the back cover and two flats at the top and bottom of the device, while the Reno6 We are faced with an all-round side bar, the same diameter of which in the whole phone indicates that the back cover is flat. This design gives this model a look similar to the iPhone 12. The shape of the cameras on the back of the phone has not changed much, of course, and the punch selfie camera remains in place at the top left of the screen.
At the top of the screen is a 32-megapixel selfie camera without autofocus with a 5-stage lens with an aperture of f/2.4, which creates an 85-degree field of view and can also be used to detect faces and unlock. On paper, this camera is apparently no different from the Reno5 5G.
On the back of the device are four camera lenses and an LED flash, including a 64-megapixel main camera with f/1.7 and a 6-step lens, an 8-megapixel ultraviolet camera with no autofocus with f/2.2, lens 5-stage and 119-degree field of view, a 2-megapixel camera for close-up photography without autofocus with f/2.4 and a three-stage lens, and finally a 2-megapixel depth-of-field sensor to blur the area behind the main subject. This combination was repeated without any special changes in Reno5 5G, and here we do not come across anything new.
The first major change between the two phones is in their processing, where the now-obsolete Snapdragon 765G processor has been replaced by a newer chip called MediaTek's Dimensity 900 introduced less than two weeks ago; This 6-nanometer processor is equipped with 2 2.4 GHz A78 cores and 6 2 GHz A55 cores, and its Mali-G68 graphics have 4 cores. There's no microSD slot here as usual, but it has 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.1GB and 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM.
The 4,300 mAh battery of the device consists of two separate units that are apparently no different from the past. The set supports the SuperVOOC 2.0 65-watt fast charger, which the manufacturer says will be able to charge 25% of the battery capacity in just 5 minutes.
5G offer on both SIM cards, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, linear vibrating motor and GPS/GLONASS/Galileo/QZSS routers are other notable features of this phone, including the absence of a headset jack and NFC connection. It is also evident in it.
- 8GB/128GB version priced at 2,799 yuan (at current conversion rate) Currency close to US $ 438)
- 12GB/256GB version priced at 3,199 yuan ($ 501)
For comparison, the two versions for the Reno5 5G are 2,699 and 2,999 yuan, respectively. They were priced.
Since the Reno 6 Pro and Reno 6 Pro + are the same in most cases, we will introduce them together and point out the differences instead. The design of these two models is similar at a glance, and in both cases we see a noticeable curvature at the edges of the screen and the back cover. The curvature of the screen, however, is apparently slightly higher in the Plus version, and thus, despite the same screen, we encounter a smaller width in this phone.
One of the most important changes between the two phones is in the rear camera, where a more professional combination can be seen in the Plus version. The Reno6 Pro + main camera is a 50-megapixel model with a Sony IMX766 sensor that measures 1/1.56 inch and has a 6-stage lens with an aperture of f/1.8. This camera is equipped with OIS or optical image stabilization. The phone has a 16-megapixel Ultraviolet camera with f/2.2 and a 123-degree field of view that still lacks autofocus, a 13-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.4 autofocus support, and a 2-megapixel f/2.4 macro camera without autofocus. They complete this collection.
Another difference between the two phones should be sought in the processing section; Where the Reno6 Pro comes with a 6nm Dimensity 1200 processor and the Reno6 Pro + comes with a 7nm Snapdragon 870 chipset. The Dimensity 1200 structure uses a 3GHz A78 core in the first cluster, 3 other similar cores with a maximum frequency of 2.6 GHz in the middle batch and 4 A55 cores with a maximum frequency of 2 GHz in the lower batch. The graphics of this processor are also from Mali-G77 with 9 processing cores.
The capacity of 4,500 mAh battery is the same in these two phones and is once again divided between two separate units inside the device. The charger of these two models, like the normal Reno6, is 65 watts of SuperVOOC 2.0 type, and once it is connected to the phone for 5 minutes, it is enough to reach 25% of the battery charge. Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth version 5.2, X-axis linear vibration motor and NFC connection are present on both phones, but 5G is only available on the first SIM card in these two models. Another difference is the dual-frequency satellite routing in the Reno6 Pro +, which is apparently not provided in the Pro version. The headset jack is not present in either model.
Introducing both Android operating systems 11 with ColorOS 11.3 user interface and are no different in this respect. The Reno6 Pro is available in green, blue and black, but in the Plus version only two light blue and gray colors are available. The Reno6 Pro comes in 128GB and 256GB (with 8GB and 12GB of RAM, respectively) priced at 3,499 and 3,799 yuan ($ 548,595), respectively, and the Reno6 Pro + comes in 8GB/128GB and 12GB/memory. 6 256GB should cost 3,999 and 4,499 yuan ($ 626 and $ 705, respectively). Both models will be available on the market on June 5 (June 15, 1400).
