Apple on Monday, June 7, 2021 (June 17, 1400) in the latest round of the company's developer conference called WWDC, which was once again held virtually, from new versions of its software platforms including iPadOS 15, watchOS 8, macOS Monterey and of course iOS 15 Unveiled. Apple delayed the introduction of the next-generation MacBook at the event, but once again turned its attention to it with new software features. iOS 15, which we will see in the iPhone 13 family this fall (or any other name with which the next generation of iPhone will be introduced), has a variety of features that we will get acquainted with in the following.
One of the biggest updates to iOS 15 belongs to FaceTime (Apple's app for voice and video calls), which is a pandemic time for meeting friends, doing homework and college, and even work and social activities. The focus has been on the company's software developers. Meanwhile, apps like Zoom and Skype have become the norm in the past year, but FaceTime suffers from certain limitations due to the iOS platform. Apple is looking to overcome these limitations and, in addition to the similar features of other platforms, has added three new options to FaceTime that will likely make it a role-playing tool in the market in the coming months and years. New options in FaceTime include:
- Spatial audio
Spatial audio with Spatial audio is the first new option in FaceTime where the audience's voice is heard by you. It seems as if they are in the same room with you; This feature, which of course requires compatible AirPods headphones, creates a more natural sound and provides a more enjoyable audio experience.
- Microphone Sensitivity Adjustment (Voice isolation)
This time, FaceTime also offers settings related to the microphone, in which you can make a clearer call by separating the talking sound from the surrounding noise.
During group video calls, the new FaceTime displays the audience in a matrix view, making it easier to access than previous models. Receiving the voices of the audience from different directions is also naturally available here thanks to the spatial sound.
- Portrait Mode
Just like taking a portrait with a mobile camera, the new FaceTime also allows for background blur, which was already present on some video calling platforms.
- FaceTime Links
Another new feature of FaceTime, which we have already seen in Google Meet and Zoom, is the ability to create a link for future contact and send it to other friends. In addition to Apple i-Devices, this link is available through the browser in Windows and even Android, so that for the first time, you can experience FaceTime in Android.
With the SharePlay feature, you can watch video content or listen to audio or music files while making a Facebook call. In this case, any content on Apple TV + or Apple Music will be able to share. Of course, this feature is not limited to Apple's audio and video content, and platforms such as TikTok, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Hulu and several other titles are also available in this mode. Apple also extended the hand of developers to support this feature in their applications by providing the SharePlay API; Which may open YouTube to SharePlay as the group's biggest absentee.
In this case, you can also use more than one Apple device, and for example, it is possible to chat on FaceTime on the iPhone and watch content on Apple TV.
Another feature present in Apple's competitors in this class is the share screen option, which has now been added to the new FaceTime feature and provides a similar screen image to the audience.
After FaceTime, the next big change in iOS 15 belongs to the messaging section or the iMessage app, which facilitates access to previously shared content. The first new option in this mode is the collage form, like the photos sent in the messages, which take on the stack or stack mode when the number of photos is high. By moving your hand on this stack, you can view the photos one by one without leaving the menu, and by tapping on each of them, you can see them all on a separate page.
Change in iMessage is not limited to photo sorting and now other uploaded files such as Videos, articles and the like have also taken on a new place. In many cases, the content you receive in iMessage (such as an article or a video) will be interesting, but at that moment you will not have the opportunity to read or watch it, and this may lead to its forgetfulness over time. To solve this problem, a new section has been considered in the News application called Shared with You, in which all the news links shared with you in iMessage are listed. The name of the person sharing the link is visible in this case and by touching his name you will be returned to the position of this message in the message menu.
A similar section of the same name is included in the Apple Music app that displays shared multimedia items and can even Add them to your library.
The charm of this item does not end here, and the photos shared in iMessage are similarly located in the Shared with You section of the Photos app and are automatically added to the image gallery. This feature works smartly and only adds important images to this section and for example random screenshots have no place in it.
Shared with You option is also available on Apple TV, Safari and Podcasts. The ability to pin a message, a link or a content and place it at the top of the other options in this menu is one of the other features that can be mentioned in this section.
The notifications section is another area that has seen some changes and updates in iOS 15; Notification Summary is a new feature in this section that allows you to set aside time to receive unnecessary notifications. In this case, it is possible to prioritize notifications and organize them according to importance, where you can receive the most important ones at the moment and postpone the receipt of less important notifications, for example, in the morning. Siri Voice Assistant now automatically reads time-dependent messages to you when you do not have access to your phone. As an example, we can refer to the moment when you order a pizza and a message on the phone announces its arrival. In this case, if you do not have access to the phone, Siri will notify you through the homepad or Apple Watch.
in the iMessage app Do not disturb your phone or set it to DND. You will be notified of this decision, and if your message is absolutely necessary, you can display it on his or her phone, even if it is still silent.
Focus is another new tool in iOS 15 that is somewhat similar to the tool of the same name in the Android suite; This feature filters related notifications and applications depending on the activity the user intends to focus on. For this purpose, predefined focuses are provided in this operating system, and the user can also define customized samples, depending on his needs, in which case the provided setting is synced with other Apple devices. For example, imagine a situation where users at work only receive notifications related to their colleagues in apps such as Mail, Calendar, or Slack. Other settings in this section include Do Not Disturb, sleep mode, and personal mode, each of which can be pre-scheduled.
Live Text option in iOS 15 uses artificial intelligence to detect text within images or live images It is used in the camera interface and users will be able to copy the displayed text.
Scanning the contact number of a store sign with the possibility of direct contact and opening a website by scanning its address is another feature of this option.
Visual Look Up In this section, it is possible to provide a variety of information from images about famous places around the world, the names and characteristics of flowers and plants, pet breeds and even the books of different books, thus showing a close resemblance to the Goole Lens experience. This feature currently supports 7 languages including Chinese (both simplified and traditional), English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
by searching the image in Spotlight in addition to finding the details of the word searched in the images also Texts within images can also be accessed. In this case, for example, you can search for the word beach and then all the images in the phone's internal memory, the beach image is displayed.
The wallet app or wallet in iOS 15 now has the ability to add different key cards from home to Henel rooms, and by using UWB technology, it can unlock machines that are compatible with this technology, and even without having to take the iPhone out of the pocket, the machine can Turn on. In some US states later this year, the new wallet will add the possibility of adding a driver's license with an ID card to its list of features, and according to Apple, the company is in talks with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in the US. Can be used and cited at US airports.
Apple Maps app also saw changes in iOS 15, including more detailed maps in some cities, augmented reality routes and 3D layers for pedestrian navigation. Selected cities in 8 countries receive 3D visual effects such as height of places, 3D buildings, distinctive colors for new roads, a new night mode and a few other things that make the experience of using this application more enjoyable.
Security and privacy options, as always, are part of the new iOS 15 options, including fully internal and local analysis of Siri data, which is done entirely with the help of the built-in voice recognition system. The Mail Privacy Protection option is not only a barrier to not specifying the status of the email on the recipient, but also prevents the recipient from being exposed by hiding the IP. App Privacy Report is another feature in this section that provides an overview of the various accesses of applications, including location, images, camera, microphone and phonebook in the past seven days.
The new features and capabilities of iOS 15 certainly do not end there, and several other options have changed in its structure. These include a list of options: changing the look of weather and Notes apps, introducing more advanced cloud features in iCloud +, the ability to share health data via a separate tab in the Health app, and new features in Find My to find. New lost translation feature in Translate, a new line on Apple TV called For All of You to show favorite videos and movies of a family or a group with a common interest, and more! Other.
